Top Thrill Dragster
About Top Thrill Dragster Race to the Sky on Top Thrill Dragster, the second-tallest and second-fastest roller coaster in the world, only to be beat out by a cheap clone of itself.
After being launched off at 120 miles per hour in under four seconds, Top Thrill Dragster will run up a vertical track to a maximum height of 420 feet, the will drop you vertically down after cresting the top. Top Thrill Dragster was built by Intamin AG, and planned out by Werner Stegel, designer of other roller coasters at Cedar Point including Maverick, Mantis, and Raptor. The ride has a total length of 2,800 feet. Although on other roller coasters it is permitted, holding your hands up on Top Thrill Dragster is not to be permitted and doing it will be on your own risk. The extreme forces of the launch could possibly force your arms back, and in the process, break them. From the time it opened in 2003, until 2005, Top Thrill Dragster held the desired records of the tallest and fastest roller coaster, along with the steepest drop on a roller coaster. All of the records held by Top Thrill Dragster were beat out by a slightly-larger copy of the ride, Kingda Ka, at Six Flags Great America. Top Thrill Dragster is situated right in the center of the park, with its entrance being across the midway from Corkscrew. Details on Top Thrill DragsterOpened: 2003
